maxima-src software package provides Computer algebra system -- source code, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install maxima-src
maxima-src is installed in your system.
Make ensure the maxima-src package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep maxima-src *
You will get with maxima-src package name, version, architecture and description in a table
